Interstate I-79 reopens southbound following emergency repairs on a 500-foot section near the Goshen Road exit. Shortly after 1pm, Wednesday afternoon (9/18), a tractor-trailer overturned spilling some 4,900 pounds of acid on the roadway destroying the asphalt pavement. Shortly after the law enforcement and the WVDOH closed the interstate and secured an environmental cleanup company to address the acid spill.
