APA to Offer Asphalt Mix Design Courses

WV State Outline with Road

The Asphalt Pavement Association of West Virginia is offering an asphalt mix design course which will cover both Marshall and Superpave Mix Design methods.  These courses are centered around the WVDOH specifications and materials procedures and AASHTO/ASTM methods.  Students will gain a working knowledge of the principles associated with asphalt concrete volumetric mix design for each design method and will be prepared to sit for their WVDOH Asphalt Mix Design Certification examination.

Courses have been scheduled for January 13-17, 2025, and March 3-7, 2025.  Each class will begin on the respective Monday at 8:00 A.M. and run through Friday at 10:30 A.M.  Students will then sit for their certification examination following the end of the class (10:30 A.M. – Noon).

This course will be held at the WVDOH Materials Control, Soils, and Testing Division office (190 Dry Branch Drive. Charleston, WV) and will begin Monday, March 11, 2024 at 8:00 A.M. and conclude on Friday, March 15, 2024 at Noon.

Course fees for an APAWV member, governmental employees and students are $700 per person.  Course fees for a non-APAWV member are $1,000.  For more information or to register for the courses please visit the corresponding registration pages below.

Please note that space is limited, and registration will be handled on a first come first serve basis, if interest is large enough to warrant a second class, one may be scheduled at a future date.  Questions can be directed to John Crane at jcrane@asphaltwv.com or 304-342-1166.
