2023 APAWV ASPHALT MIX DESIGN COURSES

UPDATE: The Asphalt Mix Design Course were a great success.  APAWV along with the help of Dr. John Zaniewski, Scott Quire, and the WVDOH would like to congratulate the technicians who became certified in both Marshall and Superpave Mix Design!!

Original Article:  The Asphalt Pavement Association of West Virginia is offering separate classes in Marshall and Superpave Mix Design Courses designed around the WVDOH specifications and methods.  Students will gain a working knowledge of the principles associated with asphalt concrete volumetric mix design for each design method.  On the final day of each of the courses, students will have the opportunity to take the WVDOH approved examination to obtain an Asphalt Mix Design Certification.

Mid-Atlantic Asphalt Expo & Conference

The Mid-Atlantic Asphalt Expo & Conference (MAAE) will be held on December 6-8 at the Greater Richmond Conference Center. PAVING INDUSTRY WRAPS UP ANNUAL MEETING AT CANAAN VALLEY RESORT

The Asphalt Pavement Association of West Virginia (APAWV) concluded its Annual Fall Meeting on Sunday, September 25 with a prayer breakfast featuring a message from Huntington Children’s Museum President Tosha Pelfrey. Nearly 150 members and their families attended the meeting at Canaan Valley Resort. Attendees were treated to blue skies but brisk temperatures for the weekend retreat that featured business sessions and family-oriented activities

WVDOH Standards Committee & Manuals Committee Meetings ~ September 7

An in-person meeting for the WVDOH’s Standards & Manuals Committees will be held on September 7,  at 9:00 a.m.  The meeting will be held at 1334 Smith Street, Charleston, WV in the Lower-Level Conference room and is open to all interested persons.  Google Meet information is available below.
