WVDOH adds additional Technician Recertification Opportunities

All WVDOH Technician Certifications that are expiring in 2022 will be required to recertify. Technicians MUST RECERTIFY to avoid retaking the full exam and practical next year. The WVDOH has posted recertification exams, for only morning exams and practicals, December 5th and running through December 16th. Additional information and registration can be found at here. Each exam will be held at the WVDOH MCS&T Division in Charleston, West Virginia and is limited to 30 persons per session. Please make note of the items to bring to the exam as posted on the WVDOH website. The WVDOH issues confirmation emails after you have completed your registration.

The WVDOH Materials Procedures (MP) Committee’s next meeting will be held in person on May 17, 2023 at 10:00 a.m. at the Technical Support Division (Basement Conference Rm.), 1334 Smith St., Charleston, WV 25301. For those unable to attend in person please join via Google Meet, details below.  A copy of the proposed changes for the meeting are available for review on the WVDOH’s Materials Procedure website by clicking here or at asphaltwv.com.

Members interested in submitting comments on any item may do so directly to the WVDOH at adam.w.nester@wv.gov or to the CAWV MP Committee Chairman Evan Bailey at evan.bailey@wvpaving.com and/or John Crane at jcrane@asphaltwv.com.  Please share comments by May 10, 2023, to ensure ample time for your comments to be reviewed/discussed for the meeting.  This meeting complies with the Open Government Meeting Act.

Governor Justice, along with state and federal officials and the CAWV, kicked off Work Zone Awareness Week at the State Capitol on Monday April 17, 2023.  All the participants emphasized the desire for all workers and travelers to be mindful and careful this year especially through the many work zones that will cover our state.
